one of those days

I've decided to skip today, for what could be a variety of good reasons. Number one, I'm just not liking today. Too many problems at work- that aren't my problem - but somehow I wind up in the middle of them- that kind o' day. Secondly, I'm ready to switch my calendar to April. Just plain ready. All this waiting and waiting for April to get here is too much - I think mom might agree with me on that one. Let's just get to the date and let me leave this cold city for the warm beaches of Sullivan's Island. I think I've suffered long enough through this cold and long winter. Thirdly, because who says I can't make up my own calendar? Bring on April!

That's not to say I'm not freaking out inside myself at the prospect of getting married in less than 2 weeks. In fact, every time I mention "less than 2 weeks" I get a bit dizzy and need to sit down. It's not that I have a lot to do before then.. I think Mom has that covered (dear soul). It's just the whole thought of it.. adrenaline I suppose?

I'm done with my little post for today.. and I absolutely cannot wait to see everybody in... less than 2 weeks!

Mom's Art Show and Last Weekend of Snowshoe

John and I had to head up to Snowshoe for the last weekend it was going to be open.  But first, we had to stop by Mom's Friday night art show.  Here we are standing by her pictures.  They looked great!  And the show was a great success, but we'll let her tell you about that.  Then JBIII and I got back on the road and drove the 10 hours to Snowshoe (well, there was an extra half hour when John decided to take 81S for a little while near midnight - we caught our wrong turn quickly).

John and I had a great day skiing!! We got up and hit the slopes by about 9:20 am, after getting in about 3:30 am.  We had Cupp Run and Shay's almost to ourselves.  Even though it had been over a year since we skied, we both did well.  Widowmaker is the new news as there are new black runs beside it and it has a high speed quad.  We also skied there a lot.
There were also some crazy people doing the "ski/snowboard into freezing water" thing.  Yes, even John and I thought that was pretty crazy.

Moving on Up

I know that you are all on pins and needles wondering what will happen come June when my lease expires, so I have a news update- David and I will be moving May 1st into a lovely tiny (though bigger than Claire's Frankfurt apartment) apartment in uber-trendy Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It is conveniently the FIRST STOP in Brooklyn and that will make commuting, visiting friends, going out.. EVERYTHING much much easier. Not that we won't miss the dear sweet Bushwick, but we're growing up, getting married and moving on. In any case, David and I will sign the lease tomorrow and move things slowly out of Halsey apt from May to June 1. Therefore, if anybody would like to visit.. the month of May would be **PERFECT** since we will have 2 apartments. Come one come all and visit our newlywed abode after May 1st1!

Peddie's hand is ok now.

u

But for the past couple weeks it wasn't, after falling of my bike. I did not break any bones, but still got an x-ray ("Rontgen" auf Deutsch) because Thomas said I could, and the other doctors weren't sure. I can now bend my thumb almost completely, and can put almost as much pressure on it as before. And guess what?!@?! Surprise surprise, it made me behind in workshop... as if I needed an excuse ;p Luckily for me, I have a faculty of people who do not believe in over working injured hands, as it can result in way too much work later one ;)

Loves!!! (and how many days till ISa's wedding?!?!?! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Race to the Finish

So, I head that Dad placed 8th overall at a race he did yesterday in San Diego! Bravo Bravo!

Now is anybody wondering why us kids didn't get that kind of endurance, stamina, discipline, etc to do a running race while on vacation and place in the top 10? Interesting.

Also, last I heard John is in South Carolina watching the house and dogs... even though I haven't heard from him (hint hint- COMMUNICATE, JOHN BOY!) This makes me want to go home even more! More family is waiting there for me! Claire, what do you say let's meet up in a month in SC? What's that you say? Somebody is getting married? Oh, right... well then it looks like we have sealed the deal. That's right everyone.. one month exactly. AHHH!

Little Ones Grow Up

I know I should make a better attempt at getting light on the picture (flash doesn't work of course), but I was just looking at this picture hanging in our bedroom the other day and had to post it. We love you.
