Once we got down there, Lynda started setting up while I walked back to Papa's house just to make sure he wasn't going to deviate from his standard routine. James, the Goodales, Mike Perkis and others were already showing up. While I was inside the house talking to Beka, Dad snuck out from under the house with Black Beauty, but I caught up with him and we walked down together. He had no idea!
It was a great surprise success as we crested the last sand dune and Dad said, "What's this?!". Everyone was excited and ready to celebrate (although we had to wait a minute while Dad showed everyone the new dog treats he got and then he had me read something from the Wall St. Journal)(no just kidding)(well, not about the dog treats). Then to make the surprise the best ever, we all looked up to see yet another person coming over the dunes - Beka!
A good time was had by all. So good in fact, that even the SI police rode by and only waved and honked instead of giving us a ticket for something or other. So Happy Birthday, Papa!
