Mother's Day 2008 Part I

We had a great Mother's Day celebration on Sullivans' Island, although I supppose one should check with the Mothers to be sure they agree. The event was presaged by a loud noisy wind-thunderstorm in the middle of Saturday night, however subsequent events showed it was just the first of many. The next came around 8:30 am and really seemed like a minor hurricane although it didn't last long. There was also a small atmospheric disturbance during the reading of the lessons at church, but I will leave that to my brother to describe. The above picture was taken immediately upon walking out of church.
We then returned to our respective houses to get stuff and then reconvened at 2650 Middle St. Did I mention that the power had gone off during the earlier storm. Never fear, we have an outdoor grill (more on that in next post). The mothers (Grandma Jane Dentry, Mom Lynda, and Mom Cindy) sat in the living room, sipping tea and talking while all was prepared. Everyone contributed in many ways, but during this period Uncle Henry cooked and supervised (duh), Isabelle and Carolina did most of other meal stuff and table arrangement, John played background jazz guitar for Mothers, Hank got Nintendogs to keep quiet, Papa brought side dishes and assisted Uncle H., and Bayne did odd jobs.
Yea! Mom gets to see John's face again!
This picture would be a great for an "add your own caption" contest, so, in fact, I think I will just leave that out there as a challenge.

I can't wait to see the comments. The moment depicted here is the glissando to the depths of bassdom in Ol' Man River.
