"Zelten und Capers," or, "What I did for Mom-day"

Hello dearest famblies! Sorry for the long absence, but it's been a busy semester. I wanted to post my mother's day/Isabelle graduation weekend, for which I really wish I'd be in South Carolina, but so was it not. I still had a great weekend. Above are my lovely Deutsche Freunde, with our fearless leaders on the right (Sophie (in my class) and her boyfriend Albrecht) and then going from Sophie to the left, Eliza, Clemens, Karina, Opa (/Christian), and yours truly (Capers is taking the picture. She's in the ones to follow).

The weather was great the entire weekend (though definitely the not-quite-summer climate of being nice to hot in the daytime and always a little chilly at night... hence the Caperscacoon). We were on the Edersee (Lake Eder) which I believe is somewhere in the direction of Hamburg.

We were on a camping site that was pretty much like a big backyard, but only a short walk to the Edersee. Sophie, Opa, Clemens, and I all managed to get into the water and I did my obligatory laps even though it was freeeezing... but it felt good too (like that time before in ... Germany? Remember, Isabelle?) A Regatta was going on at the same time, which was also cool since we had to look out for sailboat traffic, but they usually talked to us. An old couple asked me if I wanted a ride on the water taxi. Frisbee and some Fussball kicking also took place, in addition to "Tatoostitah" (that hokey-pokey kind of game). There was also a playground there which we used to our full advantage by the end of the day. Big kids.

Other highlights include visting the Burg (castle), S'mores (Capers and I had to educate them our dearest Deutschers on what they were), and the Wildpark on the way back from the trip. Many wild animals (Sirius Black looking raggedy wolf!) and wild animal BABIES!!!! Schweinchen!!!!

So, that was camping. Great time. Capers also ended up staying with me for more than a WEEK! We also created a language that is literally a mix of english and german words and grammar structure together (ex: "I gotta frag you a question bevor I it vergesse!" We might be the only people who can still understand each other.

PS: I propose Bene should also be able to post, if he would get around to it. What say we of the "other brother"?
PPS: Amy Sexauer is in contact with me and thinks she'll be in Deutschland for Christmas. Are we still planning selby-ski-DE-extraveganza?

BENE!!!
Yes... hah... it's so funny. I also immediately thought about politics (because of the poll) and that you should be able to change your answer! And of COURSE we want to hear ALL ABOUT your nonsense!

Also, the reason this post is behind the other one is because I started it and then my internet quit, but saved it first, and then Isabelle posted before I got back to it.

I am gone at the end of June and during all of July... are there any other possibilites? IT would be so cool!!! Also, when did you want to visit me again?
