Selbystock 09

Last Practice

Sound Check

Shhh, I think the band is about to take the stage.

Yes, Selbystock 09, as named by Uncle Morgan, is in the books. NOTA (standing for none of the above and also the Hungarian word for song) played their first live performance to all standing ovations (partly because everyone had to stand - it was in the back yard). We got in about 16 songs in two sets and the audience drank up one keg of Yuengling and enough other stuff that they called for an encore (We gave them Smoke on the Water - hey, everybody doesn't have a Master's Degree in Music). More pictures will be forthcoming as we get them, but here is a start.

In case you're wondering, NOTA is Michael Muhlert, Drums - Zoran Rumboldt, bass - Mark Ahlman, bass - Pal Suranyi, guitars, keyboards, harmonica, bass, vocals - John Selby, guitars, bass, vocals - Bayne Selby, guitars, keyboards, harmonica, vocals. All songs were covers for this concert. And how did we feel afterwards - stoked, pyched, etc. We will play again.

Michael is an Interventional Radiology fellow, Zoran is a neuroradiology attending, Mark is a nuclear medicine fellow, Pal is a radiology resident, John is a college student, and I am me.

Was John boy's head photoshopped into that last picture? Do I believe my eyes? Is he the only person without a beverage? And opts instead for a candle lighter?

Looks like Selbystock 09 was great.. maybe it will turn into the next Cooper River Bridge Run with all of the family coming!

It was absolutely wonderful, I think the Bridge Run idea is a great idea for Selbystock II

Oh man, I really wish to have been there. You selbystockers look GREAT and now I can finally tell my friends that you guys have a name!!!

btw... Anne and Hannah really enjoyed backgrounding my skype call to you guys on the day off. I also remember that they found their english word for the 'swine flue' as 'pig grip' hilarious! (Schwein Grippe, auf Deutsch)...

So glad it was a raging success!!! More concerts!
