A fizzie was an effervescent soft drink that you made by dropping a little self-dissolving tablet (like Alka Seltzer) into a glass of water. We LOVED 'em. Note, however, that I reminisced so heartily about Fizzies 2 years ago that I ordered a case from a retro candy company. They were, alas, no so good . . .
Oh man... I almost decided to bring "brause-tabletten" with me... they have them all over the place in germany with things like vitamin C, Multivitamin, and (my personal favorite...) Magnesium. I will bring them next time! They're delicious!!!
Ah, "the longest thread." Sounds like this is the title your dad and I have been looking for as we write the greatest novel EVERRRRRR! You know, fizzies and pixie sticks could be bought for bottle-money by two boys who collected bottles while walking home from the GE field after baseball . . . from Geo. Ott's grocery store beside the old L&N track on Rosemont. Ask him.
Wait a minute! I commented yesterday to be part of the longest blog commentary, but now I don't see it. Plus, my brother almost duplicated my comment (yes, we loved fizzies). Okay, this one better show up!
