Twas the Week After Christmas

Well, maybe starting about Dec. 29.  Isabelle and David headed back up to NYC early, and then a little later Claire and John got ready to drive up to Myrtle Beach to catch a plane.  They stopped by to Grandma, Papa, and Aunt Beka who were all very sad to see them leave.
Someone else was sad, too.
Lynda and I then spent our usual rousing New Year's Eve by playing bridge with Gma and Papa.  We did stop by the neighbors at 2650 Atlantic who were having an oyster roast.  And then we barely manage to stay up till midnight with some new friends (other neighbors) we met.  We did get updates from the younguns' in NYC and did enjoy our phone message wishing us a Happy New Year!

We then headed out on Saturday morning, well around noon maybe, to go to south Florida to watch Georgia Tech play Iowa in the Orange Bowl on January 5.  We had barely gotten down 17 West Ashley to buy some Krispy Kreme doughnuts, then Lynda got a text message from our friends, the Deveikas' who said they had just moved into a new place in St. Petersburg.  So ... we changed our plan (I know, what plan) and headed to their place.  The next day we stopped at the Ringling Bros. Circus Museum in Sarasota where Lynda asked me to buy their mansion.
We then continued on to a Hampton Inn near the airport in Miami.  Free parking and (since I am a Hilton Honors Gold Level) a free bottle of water and pack of oreos.  No kidding.  We had some good Cuban food that night and the next day bright and early (well maybe around noon) we headed for the Everglades with our itinerary from Uncle Henry in hand.  We had as much fun seeing Great Blue Herons there as we do at home.
And manatees!  Right where Uncle H told us to look by the marina at Flamingo (southernmost point in Florida not counting the Keys, I believe).
Now we are going to sleep with dreams of sugar plums and a GT victory tomorrow night at Landshark Stadium dancing in our heads.  If you look for us on TV, we will be in the lower level corner near the goal line wearing all the clothes we brought with us!  Yes, it's freezing down here too.

Ohhh, haha, no, that's a definite naaa. I did see some sweet little notebooks once I got to the freaking frankfurt airport (after all those layovers everywhere else).

I was commenting from iBadBear, even though I was sitting at my computer-(/kitchen table) chair, just for the fun of it.

Gus is wondering where you all have gone, and even John has gone back to school and Dad to work. He looks rather woeful.....
