A New Zealand bar in Manhattan: Nelson Blue!
You all must come up here so we can test it out and watch some Rugby!
Since we all can't visit Nelson, New Zealand, we brought Nelson to YOU!! Nelson Blue is New York's first New Zealand restaurant and bar. Resident Kiwi, Pauli Morgan, and co-owners, Michelle Casano and Vanessa Shum, opened shop around the corner from the South Street Seaport. This up-and-coming neighborhood couldn't have asked for a better addition.
We offer Maori-inspired decor and New Zealand-inspired menus. We've got outdoor seating in the summer and a great view of the Brooklyn Bridge always. Our fun & friendly staff will knowledgeably recommend from our southern hemisphere wines, brews from all over and mouth-watering food. Our Chef, Eric Lind, crafted a menu that takes good advantage of the New Zealand ingredients we have flown in. Make sure to try our Lollipop Lamb Chops and Green-Lipped Mussels.

They have Steinlager.. I need to actually go by and check it out.
Oh, I suppose that is supposed to be a kiwi bird on the sign....at first I thought it was a blue-footed booby! (whose feet were missing their blue) :-)
Hehe... I like how they said Maori-inspired decor and NZ inspired menus... would Maori menus be a little... cannibal?
Please go try it out though! I want to go!
They have/had a DERBY Party!! http://vshum.wordpress.com/
I wrote them an email because I saw they had Speight's on the menu! The southern man beer! And pictures of skydiving in the restroom!
