Indeed... happy birthday to our good friend, Grandpa!!!! (for the non-family reading, that's what he begins and ends with for telephone conversations, ie. "Hey Claire-bo, it's your old friend, Grandpa! Your Grandmother wants to know............ talk to you soon, sweetheart. This is your old friend, Grandpa."
I liked learning that he would leave the same sorts of messages on mom's phone when she was in college, from her old friend, Dad ;)
