Sophie's 15 minuten of fame

Wednesday night there was a big graduation party for the students at the Zeichenakademie. Lynda and I went and had a great time. Lots of what we would call Euro techno pop music - the beat never stopped. The theme was "Us at age 75", in other words every one dressing up like old people. One of Claire's friends had just gotten her dreds cut, and saved the hair to use as a beard. She might have won first prize if they had judged the outifits! So I thought she was deserving of a place on our blog. Sophie!!

That's amazing! Dreadbeard. I like it.

Curious... what did you and Mere dress up like?

Dear Selbies,

thank you really much for this 15 seconds of fame, finally doing me the honour to become part of your family`s blog.

It had always been a special pleasure to meet you in Hanau. Thank you for all your kindness, for first aid (bandages, aspirin) and last aid (pianoplay, aspirines again) and especially - I think i am saying this in the name of alle Hanau people - thank you really much for our Clairchen !!!

i hope to see you again somewhere along the way

Oh, what did we wear...we decided NOT to dress up so that we would stand out as young people! We loved those kids dancing with dowager humps, gray hair, hairnets, bottle glasses, blackened teeth, etc... Somehow though they still looked like cool Germans!(and South Americans). Claire actually was best of all as ACTED like a 75 year old, demanding that the people at the bar wait on her, pinching cheeks, etc. She is quite the darling of the school!
