So, last Monday I finally decided I was ready to take my first passenger up (my instructor didn't count as a passenger). And who better to take than my Dad. He started out by reminding me not to concentrate on him, but rather on flying the airplane. I agreed and told him that was my plan also. In fact, I said we would not talk to each other during the 5 minutes around takeoff and the 5 minutes around landing. But first we had to get the plane out of the hangar. And where do you think the plane I had checked out was? Yep, behind two others. So Papa had to help push the two planes out of the hangar. (He's still pretty strong, even in 90 degree heat!)
And then we were off. We flew over to the John's Island Charleston Executive Airport and made one landing there (we didn't get out). Then we flew out over the coast. Papa silently produced his camera and began taking great pictures. See if you can name these Charleston landmarks.
We landed back at Charleston airport 1.1 hours later according to the airplane engine and Papa pronounced both landings as good as any commercial flight he had been on. Yea!!!! Who's next?!

This is totally appropriate and I am very happy for pilot and passenger. Wow. You have both slipped the surly bonds of earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings.
is that a 182?
172R. No Carb Heat required, hehe.
Papa took some excellent photos!
So excellent, in fact, that I decided to pass on the offer of being the 2nd passenger to go up :)
Well, that simplifies the landing checklist! FLAPS TO 30!
Papa is The Man!!
I will be the second or whatever numberedth passenger when I come home!!!!!! These pictures are really cool too (I love that Papa silently produced the camera)..
I choose to name... Cooper River Bridge as the last photo! Next!
