THE SAPPHIRES... new favorite

If anyone's wondering what to get me for Christmas (which I realize is a long while off, but hey... what are the chances of anyone reading this lately?)... I really liked this movie, which is also a good family movie. I bet Grandma would have liked it.

In short: aboriginal Dreamgirls that go to Vietnam for soldier concerts with Irish, formerly down on his luck, manager.

I still haven't seen Dreamgirls, but I loved this. I watched it for Chris O'Dowd (also new fav) and Australia... New Zealand... we like that stuff anyway.

Another family recommendation (truly one to watch at the house of Papa) that I saw ages ago on a plane: The Big Year
