Another teaser! Burrito night instead!

Hi Fams (and friends?)!

The Adventures of Claire and Cindy will really be coming soon. They aren't quite as exciting as the adventures of Peanut Man (4 issues now up!), but still... try to hold on to your seats.

Instead, I am giving you a recipe for a wondeful weekend.

Preparations:
1) Complete all reports, multiple tests, weird homework assignments (sculpture with difficult-drying clay, etc), and try to get a little sleep and exercise in somewhere.

2) Make some good, nay... great friends over the past year.

3) Let Friday turn into Saturday (when should make sure to go shopping before), Sunday.

4) As appetizer, spend Saturday morning on the roof with friends eating brotchen-breakfast complete with coffee, tea, and banana pudding. (Black and white pictures may appear later from this).

5) As first course, Blechkartoffel (pan-roasted potatoes?) mit Guerke Quark (...tasted a lot like Tzatiki Sauce) as Dinner night before.

6) As main course, BURRITO NIGHT!
Ingredients (can be altered):

1 1/2 large tomatoes
1 med onion
3 cloves garlic
med can corn
1/2 large red pepper
1/4 shaker chili spice
few drops of chili sauce
olive oil

rice
can kidney beans
salt

slices of mozzarella-like cheese

First, pre-cook the rice. I added the beans in after it was cooked (forgot!), and just stirred them in and let it sit on the still hot burner and it turned out ok.

In a saucepan on high heat, add a decent amount of olive oil (so that it covers half the pan when you swish it around) and the chopped up onion and garlic. Let simmer for a bit till they look smaller and hopefully not too burnt. Then quickly chop up the tomato into quarters and then smaller slices of the quarters unless you thought ahead enough to do it already, in which case throw em on in. You might want to reduce the heat for good simmering... but it's really your call. Slice the pepper up in small slices as well and schmeiss rein! (throw in).

You may want to add more olive oil over the veggies and stir them around. Accidentally open the wrong side of the chili spice shaker so that a whole bunch falls out, but don't worry... it will make it taste better. Salt occasionally. If the tomatoes and pepper are looking all nice and simmery, just turn the heat off and put the pan cover on it so you can finally join your invited friends and eat the great salad that Hannah made (with avocados and handmade dressing! Will work on getting THAT recipe).

Check on rice and beans... taste... probably add more salt... everyone finished with salad and Euro 1.49 bottle of red wine open. Turn one burner on to low and lightly set tortilla on for a few seconds till "you can just tell" that it's warm. Then set on plate, add spoonful of rice and beans, followed by spoonful of veggies, and stick a few slices of cheese over it. Hopefully the cheese will nicely melt in, and you can fold the burrito up for your guests, since they don't know how.

Serve! You are a great hostess and everyone is almost surprised at just how great and wonderful these vegetarian burritos actually are! Guten Appetit!

... Publicity Photo for Claire and Cindy's Adventure... the soundtrack album itself is called "Alcatraz" in honor of our hostel, the Alcatraz Hostel, where this photo was taken. Excitement!

What a great story as usual. Mom and I just got back from Pinehurst, NC and that was a great thing to read. You are a talented writer
