And that is the way I start most days here in NYC....with something going wrong! I am suddenly prone to falling, breaking things, spilling, and the list goes on and on...
so back to why I'm posting! I mean to say that I am very sorry for not updating everybody sooner with my news of the big apple. It has been very very interesting as Mom can vouch for. Today the gas man (hahahaha) is coming to turn on our gas so that we can use our stove! Woohoo! At least that is not as vital as electricity which we went without for 3 days. Tomorrow the internet man comes! So, things are starting to happen this week.
The apartment is nice, its long and skinny so the air flow can be really good or really bad. The past couple of days have been super super hot so we had to buy a air conditioner, which still barely keeps me cool. We all know how I hate the heat too. Bah. Its finally getting arranged too with less frequent stops to Lowes, Ikea, and Target. You will all have to come venture into my Puerto Rican neighborhood to see it sometime!
David arrived in Bushwick on Puerto Rico day, speaking of, and was a bit overwhelmed. I think that the people on our stoop were having the biggest party of everybody, which isn't saying much, but the music was still blasting all day. Cars shot by honking with flags on them, kids were playing in fire hydrant water and grills were out. David and I (the most obvious outsiders) were moving his stuff in which made us stick out even more. Great. I actually really enjoy our little neighborhood, but I think David needs a bit more time to fully enjoy it. I also think that our neighbors downstairs are moving out. Not sure. Everybody is pretty quiet though and things become silent around 11ish. Lots of families. Yesterday was super hot and all of the fire hydrants were open shooting water around which caused us to have absolutely no water. Therefore, we went into the city to visit Christine (my friend from Dumbo) and helped her move stuff to her apartment. We alo went to Aruto's or something and it had GREAT pizza. We will have to go there too.
currently I am in "the archive" in Bushwick with a coffee enjoying some free internet. More later, and sorry again for my lack of communication!
I hope my computer still works...

Sounds like a pretty exciting life that only young people can have (and enjoy). Big question is ... how is job hunting going? We saw fire hydrants in NYC on the news. Who turns them on anyway? The people? The govt?
