Bridge Update

Bridge seems to be very fashionable on Sullivan's Island these days. Grandma and Papa have been playing with another couple from church on Monday nights for about the last year or two. Then in New Zealand David and Isabelle got a hankering to learn. And you saw the post about bridge with Caroline, Joey, John, and the gparents a while ago. Well here's the latest.

John, Mom (Lynda), and I have been going to grandparents on average about once a week and playing bridge. For instance, Mom and John went over yesterday afternoon while I was playing golf. John is getting pretty good. Gma and Papa retain their "aggressive bidding grandma-conservative bidding Papa" style which results in a collection of great bids, underbid slams, and getting set every once in a while.

Speaking of slams, Grandma is back on her game with the game play and made two slams last week against the couple they play with. This followed her making a Grand Slam with me, only we had stopped the bidding at 5 spades. I don't have a picture to put up right now, but I will look around and try to find one. If not, I will take one.

Is it the language? Esoteric lingo is always so, so . . . tenaciously sagacious.
